Many artists have enjoyed their experience in the past of staying with a host family in other cities. They are very appreciative of the families that open their homes and welcome them in during this event.
The main purpose for the artists coming to Beaver Dam is to paint a mural for our town in four days. While socializing and getting to know your guest is a plus, they do not spend much time with their host. The artist may come in late (some after midnight) and depart early in the morning, each host family is encouraged to become active in the event.
Other considerations to keep in mind are that the work the artists do is physically demanding, especially in the heat. Quiet downtime is greatly welcomed after a day of painting in the sun. It is requested that each home have air conditioning due to the possible heat that will take place during the event. We need some homes that can accommodate up to 3 members of a Walldog family as well as doubles and singles.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner and mid-day snacks are provided by the Walldog Food Committee. Some artists may have beverages of their own that will need to be stored in a refrigerator where they are staying.
